More 700 vacancies will be made available by the Manaus City Hall, from this Friday, 26/7, to perform procedures for castration of dogs and cats, in the mobile units of the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ), which are located at the Federal Institute of Amazonas (Ifam), in the East, and the Urban Social Center (CSU), in Park 10, South-Central zone. The scheduling is done only by the CCZ Citizen System, through the electronic address http://ccz.manaus.am.gov.br.
The Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa) warns that animal guardians have the responsibility to attend the date and time scheduled and that they should notify in advance if they can not attend the service. "The dropout rate is still high, around 37% of all scheduled castrations. Therefore, guardians or guardians should, in case of impediment, at least 48 hours in advance, communicate to the center that can not take the animals so that we can insert others in waiting scheduling ", warns the municipal secretary of Health, Marcelo Magaldi.
In a survey carried out by the CCZ's team of professionals, from June 1st to 30th last, 512 animals were scheduled, among dogs and cats. Of this universe, 323 underwent surgery and were effectively castrated, which is equivalent to 63.08% of the total. However, 189 animals, or 36.92% of the total scheduled, were not submitted to the service performed at the CCZ. "Our teams end up being momentarily idle because the center was not informed of these withdrawals by the guardians," points out the director of the CCZ, veterinarian Francisco Zardo.
Scheduling
The guardians or persons responsible for the animals can access the CCZ Citizen Systemavailable from the Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa), preferably using the Chrome browser. It will not be necessary to download or install an application.
By accessing the system, the interested person must register and then access the CCZ Citizen to schedule the castration of dogs and cats. This registration requires a valid CPF and e-mail from the animal's tutor, and can be done by computer, smartphone, or other device with internet access.
The Zoonosis Control Center, linked to Semsa, also conducts every year the Anti-rabies campaign in urban and rural areas (land and river). In addition, it offers surgical sterilization services for dogs and cats; registration and electronic identification; post-surgical procedures inspection; zoo-sanitary visits/inspection; control of synanthropic animals; health education and responsible animal keeping; and promotion and prevention of human rabies.
