In order to guarantee the safety of the people who will participate in the New Year's Eve at Ponta Negra, West zone, the Manaus City Hall will close the beach for bathing from 5pm on 30/12, this coming Monday, returning to be open to the public from 8am on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
Access to the beach area will also be prohibited from 23h of Sunday, 29/12, because of a mechanized cleaning operation and sweeping the beach, held by teams from the Municipal Institute of Urban Planning (Implurb) and the Municipal Department of Urban Cleaning (Semulsp), with support from the Military Police (PM) and Municipal Guard.
On Tuesday, 12/31, bathing in the river will not be allowed during the New Year's Eve event. The ban will be reinforced by barriers with entry and exit points, municipal guards, the Military Police and other integrated teams to guide the population.
The measure is part of the preparations of the structure for the city's New Year's Eve party, which takes place in the Tourist Complex Ponta Negra Beach. The closure is already performed in other years to provide greater security for those who go there to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
Rules
On the beach, in addition to the recommended bathing time - until 5pm - and the concern with children in the river, the recommendation is to be careful when consuming alcoholic beverages.
Every day, the permanent security bodies, including the Municipal Guard, the Military Police, and the Fire Department, work to support the removal of bathers from the waters before 5pm.
It is important to respect the rules for beach use and not go beyond the cordon, which indicates the safety area in the water.
Prohibitions
Those who are going to enjoy the New Year's Eve of Manaus at Ponta Negra should be aware of the safety rules that will be adopted during major events.
