Cinara Nery, Lucilene Castro, Márcia Siqueira and Fátima Silva return to the stage of the Amazonas Theater for the release of the new CD "Elas Cantam Samba - Roda com Elason Wednesday (07/8) and Thursday (08/8), at 20h. Tickets are on sale at the box office of the Teatro Amazonas and the site Bilheteria Digital.
The project's new album presents 13 songs - 12 of them recorded in studio and a bonus track recorded live - by great Amazonian and also national composers, bringing together classic and modern sambas. The release show will have the format of a samba circle, allowing interaction with the public, and will also feature special appearances by the singers James Rios e Claudia Trindade.
"As always in our shows, we will have innovation in our format. We will have all the ambiance and artistic direction to set up a samba circle on the stage of the Teatro Amazonas, and this way we will interact better with our audience and also with the musicians. All of this in the most important venue in our state, which is the Teatro Amazonas. It will be a great show," says singer Márcia Siqueira.
"Elas Cantam Samba" has a band formed by the musicians Aécio Bezerra (sax and flute), Francisbone (trombone), Claudio Nunes (seven string guitar), Dudu Brasil (six string guitar), Rogério (cavaco), besides Casqueta, Gordinho and Azamba, who share the percussion. The musical direction is by Aécio Bezerra and the artistic direction is by Francis Madson.
The CD was awarded in the Edital Conexões Culturais, promoted by the Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism, and Events (Manauscult) and is supported by the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC).
Tickets for the show cost R$ 60 for the audience, friezes and 1st floor; R$ 40, for the 2nd floor; and R$ 30, for the 3rd floor - full price.
Project
The proposal of "Elas Cantam Samba" came after the participation of Cinara, Lucilene and Márcia in the pre-show of the DVD recording of the group Ases do Pagode, in late 2012. The union was so successful that the trio decided to extend the project and invite the singer Fátima Silva.
The project already has a CD/DVD recorded live at the Teatro Amazonas in 2016, with all the initial run sold out.
James Rios
James started singing at the age of 10, in the school choir. Passionate about music, he joined dance bands, marking the beginning of his work. The artist has performed pre-shows for renowned singers such as Ivete Sangalo, Roberta Miranda, José Augusto, Tânia Alves, Elymar Santos, and also a post-show for Daniela Mercury.
During Carnaval 2013, James Rios commanded, in Salvador (BA), the blocks Sacerdotes & Clube do Samba, where he shared the trio elétrico with the singer Mumuzinho. In 2017, he recorded the CD "Samba do Meu Jeito", with songs produced with James' authorial sound concept. In Manaus, he has participated for three years in the project "Afrobrasilis", a special show with a repertoire focused on black music.
Claudia Trindade - Cláudia started in music early, at the age of 12, when she decided to study at Liceu de Artes e Ofícios Cláudio Santoro, where she joined the Youth Choir and, later, the Adult Choir. Later, she pursued her career integrating the group Pagode.Com.
Samba has always been her passion and, for eight years, Claúdia has been part of the musical wing of the Vila da Barra da Compensa samba school where, currently, she is part of the cultural movement Samba da Gente, a project developed by the association.
