New Year's Eve in the Amazon is an option for those seeking tranquility amidst nature

The capitals Manaus and Belém, promote a program with shows of national and local artists and fireworks in tourist points of the city.

For those who are looking for a differentiated programming to enjoy New Year's Eve 2019, the states of Amazonas e Paráin the North region, offer several options, ranging from traditional parties with fireworks, lodging in jungle hotels, and camping in the middle of nature.

The capitals of the two states, Manaus e Belémpromote a program with shows of national and local artists and fireworks in tourist points of the city. In Manaus, the main party takes place at the Tourist Complex Ponta Negra Beach and attracts more than 400,000 people. For the turn of 2019, the city government announced that it will have show of the singer Luan Santana. In Belém, the program takes place at the Estação das Docas, one of the main tourist attractions of the capital of Pará. Two stages will be set up there for concert presentations. The Estação das Docas is a tourist complex located on the riverfront of the old port of Belém and that brings together gastronomic options and cultural events. On New Year's Eve, the restaurants in the area reserve tables for those who want a more personalized service.

Luciana Marques, MAP Linhas Aéreas' Marketing Specialist, points out that for those who want a calmer New Year's Eve program in the middle of nature, some jungle hotels, located in municipalities close to Manaus, offer packages. This type of program usually includes a New Year's Eve dinner, cultural shows, as well as a guided walk in the forest and a boat ride to the Meeting of the Waters (a natural phenomenon in which it is possible to see the meeting of the rivers Negro and Solimões).

The Amazon municipalities also offer a program that is worth getting to know. Besides the traditional parties on the 31st, she explains that it is possible to take trips to the river beaches the next morning.

Coari, a city in the Amazon region, 362 kilometers from Manaus, for example, offers several leisure options, especially for those who enjoy river bathing. One of them is the Freguesia beach, located one hour away by boat from the city and 20 minutes by speedboat. The place is very frequented by groups that set up camp to spend the night and have a luau.

Another option is Jurupari beach, which is 30 minutes away by boat from the town. There, it is possible to enjoy the natural beauty and contemplate a beautiful sunset. The boat trip, leaving from the port of Coari, costs R$ 50. Depending on the negotiation, a return trip at the desired time can be arranged. MAP offers flights to Coari on Mondays and Fridays.

In Pará, Luciana Marques recommends Santarém (1,449 kilometers from Belém) as a destination. The city serves as a base for the District of Alter do Chão, known for its beautiful freshwater beaches. Located on the right bank of the Tapajós River, Alter do Chão is about 30 kilometers from Santarém. Visitors can reach the village in chartered boats on the city's waterfront. Access by river takes about 3 hours, via the Tapajós River. MAP flights to Santarem leave on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Besides enjoying the freshwater beaches, visitors can also try the traditional cuisine of Pará, visit bars that offer carimbó shows, a typical rhythm of the state, and contemplate the beautiful sunset in front of the Tapajós River.
