The maestro Rosivaldo Cordeiro will release the album "Guitarreiros do Amazonas" (Amazonian Guitar Players)on October 31st. The work, full of rhythms, swing and a lot of guitar, originated from the Amazon rainforest, features a select group of musicians from the Manaus scene. The event will take place at the Cultural Center of the University of Amazonas (CAUA)located at Monsenhor Coutinho Street, 724 - Center. Admission is free.
In the format of a "Workshow", the musician's presentation is dynamic and close to the audience, bringing to the city of Manaus a new idea of presentation and sharing of knowledge, both for musicians and for the public present who appreciates good music. The intention is to teach and answer questions about the musical production of the three masters of the Amazon guitar: André Amazonas, Oseas da Guitarra, and Magalhães da Guitarra.
Love for the guitar
Rosivaldo Cordeiro's professionalism translates his love for the guitar and for these Amazonian composers who rose to success in the 80s. André Amazonas, Oseas da Guitarra, and Magalhães da Guitarra are references in this musical segment, which gave Rosivaldo Cordeiro the privilege of accompanying them, while they were still alive, in some presentations around the city of Manaus. "Nothing pays to have had the friendship and teachings of the masters who influenced me when I was young," says Rosivaldo.
"The importance of rescuing our identity, the appreciation of our specific aspects, at a time when culture is becoming more and more alike due to the globalization process, and especially the ease of the Internet, justifies even more the fact that we can make this record, documenting and spreading our history and our culture in an authentic way, is an important opportunity to preserve our cultural heritage.
Project
This unprecedented project, conceived and directed by maestro Rosivaldo Cordeiro and with the general direction of Maiza Cordeiro, brings 18 new interpretations of the works of the masters André, Oseas, and Magalhães. To make this record, they counted on a team of musicians who, together with Rosivaldo, revisited an incredible time of great creativity, as well as reinterpretations and adaptations that made it possible to achieve an audio result as close as possible to the analog era.
The recording of the album was made possible through funds from the Manaus Cultural Connections Edict 2017, of the Manaus City Hall, through Manauscult.
