Second edition of 'Mediations Space' brings new exhibitions to the Galeria do Largo

The works will be in the space until December 11, with free admission. The Galeria do Largo is open for visitation from 2 pm to 8 pm, from Tuesday to Sunday.

The 2nd edition of the project "Mediations Space" project starts this Wednesday (September 4th), at the Largo Gallerystarting at 7pm, with a collective of graffiti artists and emerging names on the local scene. The project, which seeks to promote new artists of various languages, has free admission.

Within the program, the exhibition "Sopa de Letras: Trauapes features 21 graffiti artists. The group includes Adonay, Alus, Bielz, Blur, Bynose, Bora, Bulk, Chavez, Freak, Gabi, Godo, Gnos, Kaht, Kina, Liu, Lori, Mani, Telezé, Rosie, Tronks, and Zoio.

"Trauapes" is the spelling of throw-up, also called bomb, which are like quick letters, with the writers' names, with outline, fill and shadow. In them, the artist uses style to create an identity. When writers come together to fit their letters on the wall, this is called the Soup of Letters, which will have an exhibit in the Largo Gallery. The group will also hold Hip Hop presentations and tag battles on site.

Also on the program of the "Mediations Space", there will be an exhibition by the artists Mendes Auá and Jac Fagundes. Mendes will occupy the space with paintings, stickers and panels, as well as a performance, using as a theme the body as a fundamental instrument of communication and dialogue.

Jac Fagundes brings objects and sculptures made with knitting, as well as photographs in the exhibition "Fruto". The concept that guides the visual artist's work is based on the idea of the womb and the fruit as "structure where seeds are protected while ripening," explains the artist in the presentation of the show.

"The space is like a laboratory, an atelier, or studio for the artists, allowing for experimentation and dialogue between these different languages," says Cristovão Coutinho, director of Galeria do Largo and curator of Espaço Mediações. He explains that, because it is a laboratory space, the exhibitions are dynamic and the creation process is accompanied by mediators, who, this time, are the Visual Arts professionals Nelson Falcão, Priscila Pinto, and Sergio Andrade, besides Coutinho himself.
