Second edition of Halloween Pet happens this Saturday (26)

The action will feature a parade, contest to choose the best costume, awards and animal adoption.

The Shopping Ponta Negra will host this Saturday (26), from 3pm to 8pm, the 2nd edition of Halloween Pet. The event takes place on the second floor (L2), near the Brink Mania store, in partnership with the Organization Bicho Amado (OBA). The action will include a parade, a contest to choose the best costume, awards, and the adoption of animals rescued by OBA.

The event will award the most original productions with a kit of products from the NGO's partners. Dogs and cats of all sizes can participate, as long as they are wearing a collar or harness.

The guardians should register their pets until the day of the event, donating four sachets or two wet cans at the Pet Repet pet shop, located on the second floor (L1) of Shopping Ponta Negra.

According to Shopping Ponta Negra's marketing coordinator, Priscila Furtado, besides bringing their pets to have fun on Halloween, the guardians can get to know the volunteer work developed by OBA and attend lectures on animal care.

At 5:30pm, the public can check out the lecture "How to educate your dog", with the dog trainer from Companhia dos Cães, Rodrigo Frazão. And, at 6:30 pm, begins "Breast Cancer - Pink Pet October", with the veterinarian Pamela Martins.

For those who want to visit the event thinking about taking a new family member home, OBA will be with several animals, puppies and adults, who were rescued by OBA volunteers, "They were castrated, vaccinated and wormed, and are now waiting for a new home," said the president of the NGO, Jaqueline Lira.

To adopt, those interested should bring their ID, proof of residence and be over 18 years old. They will be interviewed and during the week, representatives from the NGO will visit the house where the animal will live and accompany its adaptation.
