Book and Library Week, exhibitions and Feirinha no Largo are highlights of the weekend

This weekend, spaces of the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy host events for the whole family. Among the highlights are the 2nd Book and Library Week, the fourth edition of Feirinha - Art, Culture and Fun, the exhibitions "Nipetirã" and "Margem", and musical performances. Check it out:

Friday (10/18)

2pm to 7pm - The program begins with the traditional "Tarde Dançante", at the State Center for the Elderly (Centro Estadual de Convivência do Idoso (CECI, at Wilkens de Mato street, Nossa Senhora de Aparecida neighborhood). Besides the already known bolero repertoire, students from the Ballroom Dance course at the Claudio Santoro Arts and Crafts High School will present choreographies with a Latin theme. Admission is free.

2 PM to 8 PM - This weekend, the public can check out the exhibition "Nipetirã - Todos", at Largo Gallery (Largo de São Sebastião, Center), which brings together more than 120 works by four indigenous artists from the Wanano, Tukano, Apurinã and Kamadeni ethnicities. The show displays paintings and marquetry, as well as acrylic spheres on Brazil nut hedgehogs, which rescue the memory and reflect the identity of the indigenous peoples. The Galeria do Largo is open for visitation from Tuesday to Sunday, from 2pm to 8pm.

20h - The independent rock band Escândalo Fônico performs the release show of the album "Azo", at Amazonas Theater (avenue Eduardo Ribeiro, 659, Center). The event has free admission, however, the band asks that the public also donate cans of milk that will be destined to the shelter Center for Child and Family Assistance (Nacer).

Saturday (10/19)

8:30am to 2:30pm - The State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy is holding the 2nd Book and Library Week from October 19 to 23. This Saturday, at the Public Library of Amazonas (Rua Barroso, 57, Centro), the schedule includes playful activities for children (from 8:30am to 12pm); workshop on creating comic strips for children, with Luiz Andrade (from 9:30am to 11:30am); presentation of the play "Once upon a time and tell again" (from 10am to 10:15am); chat with Mapingua Nerd about "Science Fiction: genesis and possibilities".

18h30 - The Art Cine-Club of the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, held at the Cineteatro Guarany (Vila Ninita, Sete de Setembro Avenue, Center), will show the films by Ladilce and her son Laio Carvalho, this Saturday. There are 11 short films that deal with environmental themes and family records. Admission is free, with free rating.

19h - O Provincial Palace (Heliodoro Balbi Square) receives the exhibition "Margin", with paintings by the students of the Claudio Santoro High School's Visual Arts Center about other perspectives of the city and its margins, thinking about place, identity, representation, the whole and the particular. The works will be on display until the end of December at the Provincial Palace from 9am to 5pm, Tuesday to Friday, and from 9am to 2pm, Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

20h - "Mamma Bia Baré - O Musical" will bring together the consecrated songs of the Abba Group with a totally regional cast, counting on great names of the Amazonas music, besides components of the Amazonas Choir and actors of the region. The story takes place in an inn, in the municipality of Presidente Figueiredo, where the innkeeper's daughter is getting ready for her wedding. The daughter decides to invite her mother's last three boyfriends to find out who her father is. Tickets cost from R$30 to R$50 and can be purchased at the Bilheteria Digital website.

20h - The show "Canto das Águas", by Gabriella Dias and her band, has a repertoire with songs by renowned composers such as Dorival Caymmi, Vinicius de Moraes, Gilberto Gil and Dominguinhos, focusing on Afro-Brazilian and Northeastern music, exalting the culture and regionality of the country. The presentation will be at Gebes Medeiros Theater (Ideal Clube, Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, 937, Centro). Tickets cost R$ 10 and are on sale at the Bilheteria Digital website.

Sunday (10/20)

8am to 12pm - During the 2nd Book and Library Week, the 36th Book and Comic Book Exchange Fair will be held at the Public LibraryIt will have a children's reading area and a drawing area. To participate it is necessary that the material taken must be in good condition. The books and comic books are evaluated upon delivery and exchanged for coupons, which entitle the holder to exchange the book for another book, and the comic book for another comic book or children's literature books. Textbooks, technical and school books will not be accepted.

4pm to 9pm - This Sunday, the 4th "Fair - Art, Culture and Fun" will be held at Largo de São Sebastiãoin the center of Manaus, with various interactive cultural activities for children. The space will have stations with games, educational spaces, musical shows, workshops, as well as an exhibition and sale of handicrafts and food. Access is free.


17h - O Gebes Medeiros Theater (Ideal Clube, avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, 937, Centro) receives the children's show "Monster Hunt", a comedy with theatrical actions with a theme about the environment. The plot is about the monster Abigobaldo, who seeks the degradation of the environment with pollution, spreading garbage wherever he goes. However, the Military Battalion summons the fearless warriors Cocada, Anjinho, and their commander Palito for a heroic mission. Admission is free.
