The great bossa nova classics are in the repertoire, such as "Chega de Saudades," "Garota de Ipanema," and "Wave," and great songs composed mainly by Tom Jobim.
Lucilene Castro, Elias Moreira e Márcia Siqueira join the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra for a tribute to the 60 years Bossa Nova. The show takes place on November 16th and 17th, Friday and Saturday, at the Amazonas Theater (Av. Eduardo Ribeiro, 659, Centro), at 20h.
Lucilene, Elias and Márcia will take over the vocals and will be accompanied by the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra, which will be conducted by maestro Marcelo de Jesus, also counting on guest musicians: Sérvio Túlio on bass, Paulo Marinho on piano, Aldenor Honorato and Aécio Bezerra sharing the sax and flute, and, on drums, Airton Silva.
The show, which celebrates the diamond anniversary of the musical style that won the world in the mid-1950s, will have special arrangements written by Paulo Marinho and Aécio Bezerra and is executive produced by Mari Vilhena, and directed by ON Produção Cultural.
The great classics of bossa nova are in the repertoire, such as "Chega de Saudades," "Garota de Ipanema," and "Wave," and great songs composed mainly by Tom Jobim. Besides hits, the show will also have some interpretations of songs that were influenced by the "sixties", such as "Lusis", by the Amazonian singer and composer Cileno, and also, "Faz Parte do Meu Show", a hit song by the singer Cazuza.
Other compositions that have gained contemporary reinterpretations are on the list of songs in the show, such as "Rock With You", famous song in the voice of Michael Jackson, and "The Look of Love", by Eric Clapton.
Bossa Nova
Born in the 1950s, Bossa Nova won over the world 60 years ago with compositions like "Chega de Saudade" and "Garota de Ipanema". The name of the beach has been sung by renowned voices, from composers Vinícius de Moraes and Tom Jobim to the legendary Frank Sinatra.
A movement associated with Brazil's urban growth - driven by the developmental phase of Juscelino Kubitschek's presidency (1955-1960) - Bossa Nova, for many critics, began when the Bahian guitarist João Gilberto released a simple compact in August 1958, containing the songs "Chega de Saudade", by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, and "Bim Bom", by the singer himself.
The Bossa Nova movement lasted little more than a decade and ended in 1966. However, its artistic and cultural value was considered by the new style that was emerging in Brazil, the MPB, Brazilian Popular Music. It is important to emphasize that the end of the movement did not mean the end of the musical creation of Bossa Nova, since many composers and musicians currently seek to unite melodic tones and Brazilian samba, such as Roberto Menescal, Carlos Lyra, Wanda Sá, Joyce Moreno.
