Tourist attractions in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo were the most sought after by tourists from the Northern region for the summer period. The finding is from a survey conducted by the Ministry of Tourism with travel agencies in Acre, Amapá, Pará, Amazonas, Tocantins, Rondônia and Roraima. Apart from the "Sun and Beach" segment (38%), travelers from the region were those who most sought nature/eco-tourism (25%). The survey also brought that almost half of them (46%) will travel with their families.
In addition to this information, the study brought the perspective of companies in the region regarding performance, billing, demand for services, and job generation from October 2019 to March 2020. For 14.2% of them, the outlook is that the number of employees will increase. In addition, 53.2% believe that the demand for the services offered will grow in the period. Another positive data is that 56.5% indicated a scenario with the prospect of an increase in sales for the coming months.
For the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, this data comes to crown the year 2019, which presented several positive results. "It is increasingly noticeable the participation of tourists from the Northern region in the growth of tourism in the country and businessmen who intend to invest even more in this sector. This is an important impetus for us to continue working even harder to develop the national tourism sector, generating jobs and income," he finished.
When we observe by state, the Amazon and Tocantins tourists preferred the São Paulo destinations. The people from the state of Acre intend to visit the attractions in Minas Gerais. In Rondônia, the clients of these agencies looked to the state of Espírito Santo to rest in the summer. Different from these, the tourists from Roraima chose the Federal District and the ones from Pará and Amapá selected the beauties of Ceará.
Business Survey
Conducted by the Ministry of Tourism, the study is carried out every six months, and intends to evaluate the perception of performance, in the current and future scenario, of tourism agencies and operators, in addition to identifying consumer behavior from the perspective of businessmen for the high season periods.
The purpose of the survey is to help companies in the region's travel agency sector to assess market niches to be better explored. With this survey, for example, it is possible to identify that tourists from the agencies consulted by the research do not have certain states as a choice, for travel in the period.
