This Saturday (06/7), at 8 pm, the Amazonas Theater will have a special concert with guests from the Austrian capital. Entitled "From Vienna with Love to Manaus".the show will bring together a varied repertoire of classical music, with the participation of maestro Konstantin Schenk, who will conduct the Amazonas Philharmonicand soprano Tamara Trojani. The event has free admission.
The duo came to Brazil for the first time with the dream of performing at the Teatro Amazonas. Schenk is a graduate of the Vienna Academy of Music and has conducted in several countries. Tamara Trojani, who also graduated from the Vienna Conservatory, made a career in Italy, where she met conductor Schenk at a performance. Together they began to perform concerts with a popular theme, and one of their goals was to be able to perform at the Teatro Amazonas.
"Twenty years ago Tamara took a trip to the Amazon and saw this wonderful theater. Since then she dreamed of performing here, and now we have succeeded in making this dream come true," declares Schenk.
According to the conductor, the duo performs classical concerts, but with a different characteristic. "We've been working together for a long time, doing classical concerts, but also with a bit of fun, and we always do them for a large audience. We do not believe that music is for elites," says the conductor.
In Manaus, the duo's debut will have works by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar, among others. "In the concert I always try to talk to the audience so that they feel the music. The repertoire is a mixture of everything we love in music," he adds.
Schenk hopes that the Manauara audience will enjoy themselves on Saturday. "What we want is a happy audience, and we will work for that," he says.
