Teatro Amazonas receives the play 'Contractions' this weekend

Assembly has in the cast the actresses Débora Falabella and Yara de Novaes.

The play "Contractionsby Grupo 3 de Teatro for the text by English playwright Mike Bartlett. Mike Bartlettwill be presented at Amazonas Theaterthis Saturday (6/29), at 8pm, and Sunday (6/30), at 7pm, with the actresses Débora Falabella e Yara de Novaes. A critical and public success, Bartlett's work is cruelly comic and shows the most absurd side of a common work situation. In the office of a large corporation, the manager asks her employee Emma to read out loud a clause in the contract that forbids employees to have any sentimental or sexual relationship with another colleague. In the following meetings, the manager unleashes her different facets to manipulate Emma. To keep her job, the employee eventually surrenders and damages her private life.

Directed by Grace Passô, the play won the APCA, APTR, Questão de Crítica, and Aplauso Brasil awards, and, in São Paulo alone, it has already been staged at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (2013), Itaú Cultural, Teatro Porto Seguro (2015), Teatro Shopping Frei Caneca (2016), and at Auditório do Ibirapuera (2017) - Mostra Petrobras Premmia de Teatro, Festival Teatro Vivo. In June, the play was staged in Belém.

Constant creative partners of the Grupo 3 de Teatro collective, Silvia Gomez signs the translation of the text, Morris Picciotto is the author of the original soundtrack, and André Cortez created the set and costumes for the staging. The company was founded by artists from Minas Gerais living in São Paulo: Débora Falabella, Yara de Novaes, and Gabriel Fontes Paiva, who are the artistic directors of the group.
