In addition to the procession, the contest 'Boats of Faith' will take place, which will reward the three most creative and best ornamented boats.
Traditional celebration in the Catholic calendar, the land and river procession of St. Peter, patron saint of fishermen reaches its 70th edition.
Departing from the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Helpin Rua Inocêncio de Araújo, in the Educandos neighborhood, the image of St. Peter will be carried by the waters of the Rio Negro and the faithful can follow the crossing through the boats themselves or by collecting password, from 8am this Saturday in the church itself.
The concentration starts at noon at the Panair Fishing Terminal. From 2 pm on, boarding will begin and one hour later, the river crossing will take place.
After the crossing, there will be a mass at the Zulândio Pinheiro Cultural Center with the presence of the Archbishop of Manaus, Dom Sérgio Castriani and, after that, the festivities.
