Approximately R$ 10 million have been injected into the Amazonian economy, so far, with the coming of 12 cruise ships to the state, in the 2018/2019 season. On Friday (15/03), docked at the Port of Manaus, center, the 13th transatlantic, M/S Veendam, with almost two thousand tourists, being 1,350 North American passengers and 557 crew members. In all, 15 vessels will pass through the state.
According to the president of the Amazonas State Tourism Company (Amazonastur), Roselene Medeiros, who accompanied the disembarkation of the cruises, the arrival of tourists to the state impacts the tourism production chain, generating jobs and income for the capital and the countryside.
"There are almost three million dollars injected in the state with the coming of the cruises. And this moves the whole chain, with the tourist service providers. Because the visitor will get to know our tourist attractions, our riverside communities, generating income and jobs for everyone involved in the chain. Each tourist spends around one hundred dollars a day, injecting resources in our city", said the president.
According to Roselene Medeiros, the community of Boca da Valéria, in Parintins, will receive Amazonastur actions to strengthen tourism in the region, whose community has been consolidated as a tourist destination. "This Veendam cruise passed by Boca da Valéria, which is one more attraction of Parintins. And we will prepare the community for the next cruise season. We will give courses for the pilots, the craftsmen, for everyone involved in the chain, so that the service will be excellent, guaranteeing jobs and income in that community," said Roselene.
Impressions
For the first time in Amazonas, the North American Sheri Montag, disembarked at the Port of Manaus and danced to the rhythm of Caprichoso and Garantido, next to the dancers of both Bumbás. She emphasized that Amazonas is indescribable, mainly because of the hospitality of the people and the Amazon fauna and flora.
"Everything is fascinating here, especially the wildlife, the sloths, the porpoises, which we saw in the Serra da Valéria. Now I want to see the Meeting of the Waters and the Amazon Theater up close. I love the Amazon", declared the North American tourist.
