It starts on Wednesday (20) in Amazonas the vaccination campaign against influenza. The mobilization in the state occurs 21 days before the rest of the country. According to a note from the Ministry of Health, 666 suspected cases were reported, with 107 confirmed cases of Influenza A (H1N1). In total, 28 people died.
According to the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), the vaccination campaign targets pregnant women, puerperal women (up to 45 days after delivery), children aged one year to 5 years.
Also targeted are health workers, indigenous people, the elderly, public and private school teachers, people suffering from two or more simultaneous diseases or in special medical condition, adolescents and young people from 12 to 21 years under socio-educational measures, as well as employees of the prison system and people deprived of freedom.
On Twitter, the Ministry of Health said that the campaign throughout the country will be anticipated by 15 days. It will start in the first half of April. O Ministry of Health will distribute 64 million doses this year.
