Amazonas Shopping
Starting this Friday (31), the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (INPA) opens at the Amazonas Shoppingan exhibition aimed at children that will address the fauna and flora of the region. The shopping center is located on the avenue Djalma Batista, South-Central Zone of the city.
The goal é awaken in the público children the interest for science and other 'curiosities' of the scientific worldífico. Therefore, under the guidance of master's students, doctoral students and specific areas of Inpa, children and the general public can see - up close - among other things, amazing species of live spiders in glass boxes.
The area will also have a table with stuffed animals and pictures with insects, as well as an artificial lake and a space with a mini ecosystem to explain the importance of preserving the environment where we live.
According to the Social Technology Coordinator of the Institute (COTS/COEX), Denise Gutierrez, visitors can also learn how the water purifier works and participate in the EcoThos game, which is aimed at solving environmental issues.
"É a simulação in the áre environmental area, which presents a problemática such as pollutionção, burning or misuse of land. From this, the participant needs to think of solutionsções, to show that, most of the time, é need to prioritize one thing over another. The goal is precisely to approach decision making," he explains.
The space will work from noon to 10 pm, on the second floor of the Amazonas Shopping, in front of Forever 21 store and the access is free. The exhibition will be on display until April 16.
