Brazilian products most exported are meat, seeds and various food preparations. Michel Temer's trip aims to increase bilateral exchange.

Two continental-sized countries, Brazil e Russia have deepened bilateral relations in recent years. The commercial partnership, increasingly intense, moved US$ 4.3 billion last year with exports and imports of goods. As of Tuesday (21), the President of the Republic, Michel Temer, has an official agenda in Moscow.

With climate limitations caused by the long and intense cold period, Russians need to supply themselves with products from other countries. Meat, seeds, sugars, confectionary products, and various food preparations are among the most exported items to Russia. In 2016, 60% of what they imported of animal protein came from Brazil.

In this scenario of climatic adversity, Brazilian producers have met these demands. The country is now trying to expand and diversify the list of products that make up the commercial exchange between the two nations, especially in the agricultural and livestock segment.

Investment in Brazil

At the same time, fertilizers are the Russian goods that are most sold to Brazil. Besides them, mineral fuels, aluminum, cast iron, and other items are part of a long list of products in bilateral trade.

The Russians have also increased their investments in the Brazilian productive sector. In the first four months of 2017 alone, their investment in the country is already 329% higher than that registered in all of 2016 - it jumped from US$ 8 million last year to US$ 35 million between January and April of this year.

With Michel Temer's trip, the country can offer Russia even more investment opportunities in the productive sector. The Crescer Project, which aims to expand the Brazilian infrastructure, will be presented as one of the possible entry doors for Russian investments in Brazil.
