On the next day 17, at 18h, the Arena Amadeu Teixeira, Midwest Zone of Manaus, will host the 1st Solidarity Football of Artists, an event held on behalf of the Amazon League Against Cancer (Lacc). The society soccer match will count with the presence of more than 60 local artists and the entrance fee will be 1kg of non-perishable food. Everything that is donated will be destined to a philanthropic entity that supports the cancer cause in the state.
According to Janaína Meireles da Silva, one of the organizers of the activity, the match is an initiative of the producer Athayde Muller. Popularly known artists in Amazonas, such as Berg Guerra, Guto Lima, Júnior Bahia, Maykinho (Xiado da Xinela), Nunes Filho and Ed Castro (Municipal Club), Marquinho Marckie, Jardel (vocalist of the band Rabo de Vaca), Fofinho do Arrocha, Jhony Lemos, and Jair Alves, are already confirmed. She explains that there will be four hours of sporting events and the expectation is that about three thousand people will show up to watch and contribute to the cause.
For Lacc's president, mastologist Jesus Pinheiro, the partnership is extremely important, because it will help to expand one of the League's main social projects: the monthly distribution of basic food baskets to low-income cancer patients. "We hope that the population will join us in this great event of good in favor of those in need. We will exercise solidarity by joining the useful to the pleasant, since soccer is considered one of the national passions", he commented.

The Amazon League Against Cancer was founded 63 years ago with the objective of fighting cancer in its most different spheres. Today, the entity is considered one of the main partners of the Foundation Center for Oncology Control of the State of Amazonas (FCecon), acting in the development of various activities aimed at prevention, palliative care, among others.
Among the main projects developed by the NGO in Amazonas, are: daily distribution of hundreds of snacks to patients waiting for specialized treatment at FCecon; transportation of cancer patients from home to the Foundation for treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy; payment of social rent to people under treatment in the capital, from the interior cities and neighboring states, among others.
