A popular party for all people and with all rhythms. This is how the Carnival of the Amazon 2019. Besides the Samba Schools Parade - on February 28, March 1 and 2 - the State Government's program includes events in all areas of the capital, on the 3rd and 4th (Sunday and Monday), with attractions for all tastes: boi-bumbá, samba, sertanejo, forró, brega e arrocha.
The state secretary of Culture, Marcos Apolo Muniz, explains that the new format is part of the policy of decentralization of actions, facilitating access of the population to cultural activities. "Manaus is a city that embraces all the rhythms, all year long, and Carnaval is a popular party that brings people together. Thinking about this, an agenda was set up so that everyone has the opportunity to participate", he said.
According to Marcos Apolo, the places where the events will take place, in the neighborhoods, were chosen because they are easily accessible in each of the city's zones.
The programming of the State Department of Culture (SEC) begins with the Parade of Samba Schools of Manaus, which this year won another night and will be held from February 28 to March 2, the Convention Center Professor Gilberto Mestrinho - Sambadrome. The Access Groups will perform on February 28 (Thursday) and March 1 (Friday), and the Special Group closes the schedule on 2 (Saturday).
On March 3 and 4, the SEC will hold a program in the neighborhoods. In all, 32 artists will participate: 20 boi-bumbá attractions and 12 of various genres.
On the 3rd, the party will be in Viver Melhor (North zone) and on the street Alameda Santo Expedito, in the Santa Luzia neighborhood (South zone), with shows from 18h until midnight. In Viver Melhor, the attractions will be Banda Manaus Frevo, Vanessa Auzier, Edilson Santana, Marcia Novo, Zezinho Corrêa, Leonardo Castelo, Arlindo Junior and Forrozão Já Kero. Meanwhile, in Santa Luzia, the shows will be with Banda Freelance, Immediate Contacts, Itamar Benarrós, Jardel Bentes, Black Marialva, Yanaira, Sebastião Junior and Rabo de Vaca.
On the 4th, the Ligação Viária Presidente Dutra, at Orla da Glória (West Zone) and the Shopping Phelippe Daou, at Jorge Teixeira (East Zone) will be the stage for the revelry, also from 18h until midnight. At Orla da Glória, Rosivaldo and Os Metais de Olinda, Gaviões do Arrocha, Júnior Paulain, Tony Medeiros, Edmundo Oran, Carlinhos do Boi, Canto da Mata and Banda Marrakesh will perform. At Shopping Phelippe Daou, the shows will be Banda Impakto, Xiado da Xinela, Klinger Araújo, Carlos Batata, Prince do Boi, Israel Paulain, Davi Assayag and Forró Festança.
