A Joaquim Marinho House of Culturea multifunctional space for cultural and artistic diffusion, will launch on December 16, starting at 7 pm, the book "The Lessons We Learn from the Beatlesauthored by radio broadcaster Marco Antônio Ribeiro. The event will include a show by Black Mersey Banda specialist in covers of the British band.
On the occasion, copies will be sold for R$25.00, with autograph and dedication. In an interview to Conexão Literatura Magazine, the author comments on the ideas that inspired him to write this book: "[...] There are hundreds of publications related to behavior - from traditional psychology to what is conventionally called self-help - and music. So I decided to put the two together. The Beatles are one of my favorite bands, closely followed by The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Mutantes and Legiao Urbana. There is no doubt that The Beatles were the most important band in the history of rock music, but no, the Englishmen didn't reach the top overnight. They had to go through a lot to reach the goal of being a great band. Just like each one of us, with our goals. The difference is that they moved on, unlike many of us who gave up along the way. I drew that parallel to show what the stories of these wonderful musicians could teach us."
