Palácio da Justiça Cultural Center
To house the Judiciary, construction of the Palace of Justice began in 1894, during the administration of Governor Eduardo Ribeiro. Its inauguration was held on April 21, 1900 in the government of the then Colonel José Cardoso Ramalho Júnior, having as president of the Court, the Judge Cézar do Rego Monteiro, even though it is one of the main examples of classical architecture of the golden period of the rubber economy, its structural lines follow the Renaissance style. It was listed as a state heritage site in 1980, and over the years has undergone several conservation and restoration works, especially the one carried out in 2001/2002, being inaugurated as the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Center in June 2006, therefore deserving specific care and special attention from those who use it. Built on an elevated area of the city, it is protected by a robust wall with balustrades, a centennial work located right behind the famous Teatro Amazonas.
