O Centro Cultural Palácio Rio Negro receives, starting March 9, the photographic exhibition "Carnival - the biggest popular party in Brazilheld by students from the photography class of the National Service for Commercial Learning in Amazonas (Senac-AM). The event, which will bring together more than 70 photographs showing the most varied angles of the party, is free and has the support of the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC), through the Open Space Program.
According to the class teacher and creator of the project, Djonatan Piehowiak, the exhibition is the result of the work of 15 students, who went out to the streets to register the Carnival, each one with a specific focus of coverage. "While some limited themselves to the street blocks, others focused on masked balls, senior citizens' balls, and samba schools, and thus we achieved a general coverage of the Carnaval," he explains. Also according to Piehowiak, the exhibitions are held at the end of each class, however, this is the first time that the event will be held at the Palácio Rio Negro.
The photography teacher emphasizes that the students surprised during the production of the photos and that the public can expect quality works. "The class always starts out a little shy, but after they go into the field, they come back with amazing work. We have photos that play with light games at the masquerade ball, we had students who decided to focus only on facial expressions, so it is a differentiated exhibition that is worth a visit," says Piehowiak.
The exhibition is at the Palácio Rio Negro until March 31. The cultural space is open from Monday to Saturday, from 1pm to 5pm, and on Sundays, from 11am to 3pm. Admission is free.
