One of the most celebrated names of the new generation of Brazilian chefs, the Alagoas native Guga Rochadisembarks in Manaus to create a dinner four hands, in partnership with the chef Marcus Pompeuon February 6 and 7/2, at 7:30pm, at Marimari Restaurant, located in the Pátio Gourmet, on Avenida Via Láctea, set Morada do Sol.
The national guest will be received by the highlight of contemporary cuisine in Manaus, Marcus Pompeu. Together, they will prepare a tasting menu that summarizes the essence of the two chefs, consisting of two starters, two main courses, and dessert.
Guga Rocha has experience in more than 40 countries, such as Italy, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Indonesia, Greece, Canada, and France. The chef's cuisine is creative, unpredictable, light, and rich in flavor, the result of his continuous research on the national culture, combined with his curiosity for the diversity and exoticism of world gastronomy.
The chef from Alagoas has presented TV programs, lectured at the most important gastronomy festivals in the country, and participated in national and international events with great chefs in starred restaurants. Today he is respected by critics and the public, in Brazil and abroad, where he is nicknamed "tropicalist chef".
For this special occasion, Guga, who is a defender of Brazilian ingredients and a militant of "root food", will offer dishes from the perspective of Brazilian traditions, culture and folklore, and the host chef will follow the style of his professional colleague.
Marcus Pompeu, who is responsible for Marimari's gastronomy, explains the choice of the guest to debut the new gastronomic experience and share, for the first time, the command of the restaurant's kitchen. "The passion for food brought us together, and then, nothing could be more fair than repaying our friendship by giving prestige to the quilombola cuisine, Guga's specialty. It will be a kitchen of friends", he says.
