Chico da Silva sings samba at 'Tacacá na Bossa

The repertoire of the presentation will be authorial, contemplating the numerous hits of the Amazonian singer and composer.

This Wednesday (6), from 7 pm, Chico da Silva will make a special show at "Tacacá na Bossain the Largo de São Sebastiãoin honor of the National Samba Day, celebrated on December 2. The event is supported by the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture, and access is free.

The repertoire of the presentation will be authorial, contemplating the countless hits of the singer and composer from Amazonas.

"We have to always exalt samba and the date reinforces this feeling", says Chico da Silva. "During the show I will do a little bit of samba de raiz, samba canção, and partido alto.

According to Chico, the repertoire will also include some toadas de boi-bumbá. "I will do 90% samba and 10% toada because the public always asks and likes it. I can't not play it", he comments. Among the sambas chosen to rock the night at the Largo are "Pandeiro é meu nome", "Sufoco", "É preciso muito amor", "Tempo bom", and "Tudo mudou"; and the toadas "Vermelho", "O amor está no ar", and "Festa da raça".

Gisela's Tacacá project, "Tacacá na Bossa" takes place every Wednesday, starting at 7pm, at Largo de São Sebastião, with the support of the Amazonas Government, through the State Secretariat of Culture.

Manifesto

Before the show, opening the night at "Tacacá", there will be the launching of the National Front Against Censorship (FNCC) in Manaus, which arose as a reaction to the recent acts of intolerance in relation to the freedom of artistic creation.

"The movement is totally non-partisan, organized by artists, intellectuals, journalists, producers, and culture makers in general. On the occasion, the manifesto written by Aldísio Filgueiras will be read", says sociologist Lúcio Carril, who is part of the organizing committee of the movement in the capital of Amazonas.
