On Monday, the 19th, will be screened Three Announcements for a Crime. The film, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival, tells the story of Mildred Hayes who lost her daughter seven months ago in a terrible crime and sees the city police can not find any suspects. So she rents three billboards on a little-used road to question the authorities, but what happens next is a spiral of hatred and revenge that spreads through the town and questions the morality of its inhabitants. In addition to earning Frances McDormand her second Academy Award for Best Actress, the film also enshrined Sam Rockwell with his first academy award as a Supporting Actor.

On Wednesday, the 21st, it will be the turn of Dunkirk. New feature film from acclaimed director Christopher Nolan, the film tells the story of the rescue of soldiers trapped in the city of Dunkirk, France after their failure to defeat the German advance in World War II. Dunkirk stands out for uniting in its narrative three distinct moments of the evacuation to tell the story of civilians, military personnel, and their officers during the complicated situation. The experimentation earned the feature an Oscar for Best Editing, as well as two Oscars for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.

On Friday the 23rd, The Shape of Water will end the week. A film directed by Guillermo Del Toro, the story deals with the story of Eliza Esposito (Sally Hawkins), a mute woman who works as a janitor at an American military laboratory. One day, a new creature arrives at the laboratory where she cleans, and from then on she begins to create a relationship with him. The film, in addition to receiving the award for Best Picture and 12 other nominations, also earned Guillermo Del Toro his first Oscar for Directing, thus joining his friends and fellow Mexicans Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro G. Iñárritu to win a directing Oscar in the last five years.
