The screenings are free and the time of the screenings remains at 12:30pm.
This week the Ufam's Film Society will dedicate its programming to show successful films. The project also takes the opportunity to show "Pra Frente, Brasil" as a way to honor Roberto Fariasthe director of the film, who died on May 14 due to complications with his health. As there will be a Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday, the sessions will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The time is still 12:30 pm in the Rio Negro auditorium, located in the hall of the IFCHS.
On Monday will be shown "The Impossiblefrom director J.A. Bayona, responsible for "The Orphanage" and "Jurassic World: Threatened Kingdom". The cast includes Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, and Tom Holland, who live the characters of a family that wants to take a vacation in Thailand in 2004. After a Tsunami, they get separated and try to find each other again. From there, the tragedies of the disaster are explored for the family and the other survivors.
On Tuesday will be screened "The Community"directed by Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg. The film received the Silver Bear for Trine Dyrholm's performance and was also nominated for the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin festival. The film follows the teaching couple Erik and Anna, who in the 1970s decide to create a commune in a prime neighborhood to share and party with other people. After an event, they begin to reevaluate this issue.
To end the week, on Wednesday we will show "Pra Frente, Brasil by Roberto Farias. Director responsible for classics of national cinema such as "O Assalto ao Trem Pagador", he was also responsible for some collaborations with Roberto Carlos, directing three films starring the singer. In "Pra Frente Brasil", the story is told of a family in 1970 that lives between the successes of the Brazilian national team during the World Cup of that year and the harsh political persecution carried out by the military government.
