Starts this Friday (10) and goes until the day 12 March, the programming of Street Carnival Manaus 2017

Attention to the revelry! This Friday (10), begins the programming of the 2017 Street Carnival, which will feature one hundred bands and street blocks, until March 12.

 

According to the Manaus City Hall, among the blocks, are the traditional bands of Difusora, Bica, Boulevard, Galo de Manaus, Bhaixa da Hégua and Jaraqui. All have the structural support of the City Hall, through the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult).

The carnival will invade the streets of the neighborhoods in the East, South and Midwest, this first weekend, 10 to 12, with bands such as 'Chiquita' and 'Jangadeiro' in the Center, and 'Fura Olho' and 'Brochas' in the South.

The events were contemplated through the Edital Nº 09/2016 and will receive stage, sound and lighting support. A total of 164 proposals from bands and carnival blocks were presented. The official result was published in the 4045th edition of the Diário Oficial do Município (DOM).

"We had a great participation of the organizers, with 164 proposals registered in our call for proposals, and 100 approved, which demonstrates the growth and maturation of this transparent selection process. Manauscult understands that the street Carnival is a legitimate cultural manifestation, popular and traditional in our city, and that we help it to become even bigger. We consider the most traditional bands as a tourist product on the rise, such as, for example, the Jangadeiro Band, in the Center of Manaus. Last year, several tourists who disembarked from a cruise ship were in the band. For this, we have been working in partnership with the security agencies in order to ensure greater tranquility to the revelers", said the director-president of the band., said the CEO of Manauscult, Bernardo Monteiro de Paula.
