Began on Monday (19/3), in the five bus integration terminals of public transport in Manaus, the action of enhanced policing in order to combat theft and robbery on buses of public transport in the capital. The work will involve teams from Civil Police, Military Police and the Executive Assistant Secretary of Operations (Seaop). The ostensive policing will occur at peak times throughout the day and plainclothes police will be using the lines throughout the day.
The vice-governor and Secretary of Security, Bosco Saraiva, has been visiting the terminals since early in the morning to monitor the work. "We are in a strong fight against assaults on buses to reduce and, if possible, eliminate this type of crime," he said.
The reinforcement of policing will be done with the presence of vehicles and military police on foot and a work with plainclothes policemen, who will also circulate inside the buses. The force is extra, composed of officers from the Specialized Policing Command, the Tactical Force, and the Environmental Battalion.
In addition, the Department of Public Safety (SSP-AM) will also reinforce the Operations Ratchet and Safe Route, exclusive to the supervision of public transport buses, alternative and routes that make the transport of employees of the Industrial Pole of Manaus.
