World Cup 2018 will have programming and cultural events from Brazil

Music, dance and circus performances, art exhibitions and gastronomic festivals are to take place in a space called Casa Brasil in Moscow.

Brazil's participation in the next World Cupin 2018, will go far beyond soccer: the world's biggest soccer event will be a stage to showcase Brazil's cultural richness to the Russians, who will host the World Cup, and tourists from all over the world who will prestige the participating teams.

A partnership between the Ministry of Culture and sectors of public and private initiative will bring cultural attractions of music, dance and circus, art exhibitions and gastronomic festivals. The events will be presented at Casa Brasil, a space to promote the country during the World Cup, located in the Russian capital, Moscow.

The World Cup takes place between June 14 and July 15, 2018 in 11 Russian cities. The Minister of Culture, Sérgio Sá Leitão, considers that this period can be an opportunity to benefit Brazilian culture and art, in addition to promoting Brazil as a tourist destination.

"We will make an arrangement of partnerships between various spheres of government, including content, resources, etc. From our point of view, the program should emphasize a platform for cultural diffusion. Culture is our asset", emphasized the minister, who received proposals for the event on Wednesday (18).

The main suggestions will be unified in a single project, supported by the Government of Brazil and which, according to the minister, can be a stimulus to the business platform linked to the creative economy and the expansion of Brazilian "soft power" in the world.
