Parade of Samba Schools of the Special Group will be held this Saturday (22), in Sambadrome

The themes of the associations range from the pride of being manauense, to rituals of humanity, tributes to saints, cities and artists from Amazonas. Admission is free

The Parade of Samba Schools of the Special Group of Carnival 2020, promoted by the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, starts this Saturday night (22/2), from 20h, at the Convention Center - Sambadrome. The themes of the associations range from the pride of being manauense, to rituals of humanity, tributes to saints, cities, and artists from Amazonas. Admission is free.

At 20h, the Primos da Ilha opens the parade with the theme "The Promise - From Cappadocia to African drums. Hail George", in reference to the saint venerated in Catholicism and also in various cults of Afro-Brazilian religions, where he is syncretized in the form of Ogum.

At 9:20 pm, the Unidos do Alvorada takes the stage with the theme song "Oi, eu estou aqui! Alvorada with an extra chromosome shows that being different is normal", which will pay homage to people with Down syndrome and will feature Thati Piancastelli, an actress with Down syndrome who has gained important international visibility incorporating plays like "Menina dos meus olhos" and "Oi, I'm here".

Third school to parade, at 10:40 pm, the Andanças de Ciganos represents the neighborhood of Cachoeirinha with the theme "Milk - the liquid of life in the delight of Carnival", about the history and importance of food for humanity, through allusions to mythology to the production of artisanal cheese in the municipality of Autazes.

At midnight it will be the turn of the United Kingdom of Libertywhich exalts the tourist potential of Amazonas for the development of the state with the theme "Tourism - The Amazon with open arms for the world". The exuberance of the Amazon forests and its waters, the indigenous sanctuary, the caboclo essence, the cultural reliquary, the flavors, the colors and the traditions will be part of the theme of the samba school.

At 1:20 a.m, The Big Family, agremiação do bairro São José, comes to Carnival with the theme "I'm manauara - 350 years feeling proud of my ground," about the pride of being manauara, with a rescue of the history of the tribe Manaó, the Rubber Cycle, the construction of the Teatro Amazonas, besides the fruits, fish and typical foods of the region.

Sixth school to parade in the avenue, at 2:40 a.m., the Mocidade Independente de Aparecida with the theme "Rituals", showing the rituals of different ages of humanity, cultures of the great and ancient civilizations and also of the modern ones.

Penultimate to parade in the avenue of samba, at 4:00 a.m., the Vitória Régiafrom the neighborhood of Praça 14 de Janeiro, pays tribute to the artist Wernher Botelho and talks about love for Amazonian folklore with the theme "Wernher Botelho is our thing! Abuse is Green and Pink".

Closing the Special Group parade, at 5:20 a.m., the Mocidade Independente do Coroado defends the plot "From clay to green oil, Mocidade comes to crown the mature dream, Iranduba the city of the future", about a sustainable economy project in the city that intends to use algae to produce fuel.

Accessibility

The Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, in partnership with the State Secretariat of Justice, Human Rights and Citizenship (Sejusc), will bring accessibility to the Sambadrome. On February 21, 22, and 24, an "Accessible Space" will be available for People with Disabilities (PcDs), in front of block G. The place will have adapted bathrooms and libras interpreters.

Sejusc's teams will also make the transfer from the Olympic Village, on 02/22, Special Group Parade, and 02/24, Carnaboi.

Counting

On Monday (2/24) the champions of Carnaval 2020 will be known. The counting will begin at 10am, at the Convention Center - Sambódromo.
