National Comic Book Day will be celebrated at Largo de São Sebastião

There will be three days of free activities, including lectures, workshops, exhibition and comic book fair

To celebrate the National Comic Book Daya group of artists from Amazonas has prepared an intense program that will take place at the Banca do Largoat the Largo de São Sebastião. There will be three days - from Thursday (30/01) to Saturday (1/02) - of free activities, including lectures, workshops, exhibition and comics fair; in addition to the presentation of projects to be released later this year, by members of the Ajuri group, responsible for organizing the event, which is supported by the State Government through the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy.

Among the announced works are the comics "Ajuricaba", by Ademar Viera, Jucilandy Jr and Crystieê Santos; "Trovão 2", by Luiz Andrade; "No Rastro do Eldorado - Uma biografia de Silvino Santos", by Evaldo Vasconcelos and Ricardo Souza (the only artist from outside the state, Ricardo is the illustrator of the comic book "Marighella #LIVRE"); "Maramunhã", by Evaldo Vasconcelos and Rayanne Cardoso; and "A última arrow", by Emerson Medina and Romahs Mascarenhas. The publications were contemplated in the Manaus Cultural Connections Award notice, the Municipal Culture Foundation (Manauscult).

Other artists who will launch work at the event are Geovan Motter, with "T.E.A.M." and "Totó 2"; Romulo Gama with "Dream", "The middle finger" and "Love is a bid Contradictory"; and the parintinense Levi Gama with "Teça and the Blackbird" and "Caturama and the island of mysteries".

Besides the individual works, the group will also release the collection "Ajuri #2", with works by all members and scheduled for release in the second half of the year.

About the date

The National Comic Book Day was established in 1984 and is a reference to the publication, on January 30, 1869, of the first Brazilian comic book: "As Aventuras de Nhô-Quim ou Impressões de uma Viagem à Corte", by cartoonist Angelo Agostini.
