Tourist Complex Ponta Negra Beach
The Ponta Negra beach is a river beach on the banks of the Negro River, located approximately 13 km from the center of Manaus. Since 1969 it has established itself as a meeting and leisure spot for the Amazon population, where they go on weekends and holidays, especially during the months with the highest temperatures in the city.
It is located in the neighborhood of the same name, Ponta Negra, West Zone, and besides being a tourist spot, it has become the most noble neighborhood of Manaus today. Closer to the Rio Negro shore are located the large closed condominiums, high standard residential areas and the most valued in the city, in front of a privileged and exuberant scenery. The Ponta Negra district is also the main growth vector of Manaus. A region that grows in value every day with the investments it receives in road, residential, commercial, leisure and cultural infrastructure.
In its latest revitalization reform, urbanized by the Manaus City Hall, delivered in two stages in 2011 and 2012, the place was transformed into a tourist complex as the boardwalk expanded, gardens, viewpoints, sports courts, amphitheater for 15 thousand people, skateboarding track, playground, and kiosks and restaurants of typical foods, which greatly changed the landscape and greatly valued the area.
It is worth mentioning that from the Ponta Negra you can have a privileged view of the sunset, starting at 5pm, and see the Rio Negro Bridge, about 3.6 km long, which connects Manaus to the cities of Iranduba, Manacapuru and Novo Airão. The place has been the stage of gastronomic fairs in the city.
