Experts debate the creation of the Museum of Geosciences and Paleontology at the Museum of the Amazon

All workshop activities will take place at the Museum of the Amazon.

To think of a Geoscience and Paleontology Museum in the Amazon, researchers, geologists, archaeologists, biologists, paleontologists and students will meet on April 17 and 18 in Manaus. The objective is to exchange information and ideas to subsidize the museum that should be installed in a space of the Museum of the Amazon (Musa). The opening is scheduled for this Tuesday (17/4) at 9am with a tribute to the geologist and paleontologist from the Federal University of Amazonas, Rosalie Benchimol.

In addition to paleontology, micropaleontology (study of fossil pollens and microorganisms), geological history and geology , topics related to the study of the ancient history of human presence in the Amazon and the relationships of the subsurface geology and geological formation with the current watershed, forest, biodiversity and distribution of animal species today will also be addressed.
