Inspired by the fairy tale 'The Little Soldier of Lead', the children's play The Magic Hour will be the attraction of this Saturday (25), at 5pm, and Sunday (26), at 4pm, at the Manauara Theater (Manauara Shopping). The production is an Interarte production, with tickets for R$ 60 (full) and R$ 30 (half), on sale at the Manauara Theater box office, at Alô Ingressos and the website.
The Magic Hour' is written and directed by actor and director Roger Barbosa. The inspiration is 'The Little Soldier', by Hans Christian Andersen, first published in 1838. The story of the Little Soldier - tin in the original text - has already been adapted for one of the segments of the animated film 'Fantasia 2000', by Disney Studios, and also served as inspiration for the film 'Toy Story' (1995), also produced by Disney.
The first staging of 'The Magic Hour' took place in 1998, and was revived in 2010, when it ran for two years, and received an award for best soundtrack in 2012. It then returned to the stage in 2015.
The plot of 'The Magic Hour' takes place in a room where, at midnight, toys awaken and live great adventures. But, always smart and funny, Maria the doll is worried. It's because Laurinha, the owner of the toys, has been taking a long time to visit this room. Maria has always been Laurinha's favorite doll and now she feels abandoned.
The romantic Isabel is a ballerina who dances to chase away the sadness and fight the bad mood of Bufão, a doll with springs that wants to rule everything.
All this routine is broken with the arrival of new toys. The first is a Little Soldier of Lead, who soon gains the attention of the ballerina Isabel, making the Bufão very jealous, to the point that he hatches a plan to destroy the Little Soldier.
The story is narrated with music and dance, and the whole creation and construction of the set, costumes and songs of the Interarte play seeks a dialogue between classical and modern.
The cast includes Adriano Holmes (Bufão), Ariane Matos (Laurinha), Erika Vale (Monster High), Greyce Carlos (Maria), Marcia Amorim (Isabel, a Bailarina), Raphael Frota (Bernardo, o Soldadinho de Chumbo).
