THE NGO Animal ComPassion (CPA) in partnership with the company CaminhaCão Atividade Animal perform on December 9, at 7 pm, in parking lot G6, the Manaus Plaza Shoppinga lecture on how pet owners can help animals deal with the fear of fireworks during the holidays. To participate you just need to make a solidary registration by donating 1kg of dog or cat food on the day of the event.
According to the vice president of CPA, Saskya Canizo, the food collected will help animals rescued by animal protectors. "It will be a different event, an opportunity for guardians to learn more about their pets' behavior and how to deal with moments of stress, not only during the fireworks, but during heavy rains and noise, for example," she said.
The chat will be conducted by the canine educator, Karina Mayo, from the hotel and daycare CaminhaCão, who explains that this stress happens to many dogs and cats.
"However, we can not generalize, there are animals that simply do not mind the noise, while others feel fear or panic, which requires care, especially because most of the time this sense of danger can cause them to hurt themselves, "explains Karina.
Depending on the animal, a very loud noise can cause emotional trauma, vomiting, diarrhea, fainting, convulsions, hearing loss, cardiorespiratory arrest, and even death. "We will talk about how to prepare in case of travel, minimize the sound and make the animals more comfortable during the fireworks," says the educator of CaminhaCão.
