The exhibition is a realization of the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC), and presents an unprecedented collection of works of art collection of the Amazonian poet.

"Decades of Friendships and Colors" has free admission. After the opening, the exhibition will have visitation from Monday to Saturday, from 1pm to 5pm, and on Sundays, from 11am to 3pm, until April 30, 2018.

Curated by Óscar Ramos, the show brings together a total of 37 works, which were selected from an unprecedented collection of the Thiago de Mello Collection, acquired last year by the Government of Amazonas, through SEC.

"It is with great pride, joy, and the blessings of the Poet that today we present this new exhibition of the Thiago de Mello Collection. In it, we offer to the amazonian public a series of unpublished works, mainly with names of Brazilian art", says the Secretary of Culture, Denilson Novo.

From the set of works on display, Óscar Ramos highlights important names in Brazilian art from the 1950's: "Names such as Santa Rosa, Iberê Camargo, Athos Bulcão, Fayga Ostrower and Darel Lins, who, in that decade, kept lit the light projected by the success of Cândido Portinari and the Mexican Muralists, who were acclaimed worldwide," points out the curator.

Other national names in the show, Ana Letícia, Aldemir Martins and Fernando Fiuza appear alongside the Amazonas Moacir Andrade, Jair Jacqmont, Hahnemann Bacelar, Sérgio Cardoso, Auxiliadora Zuazo and Paulo Olivença. From Latin America, the exhibition includes works by the Chilean Guillermo Núñez and the Spanish-born Chilean Roser Bru - author of the pencil and pastel drawing "Portrait of Rimbaud".

The exhibition also includes technical drawings by architect Lúcio Costa with the plans for the construction of Thiago de Mello's house in Barreirinha, and a letter by Carlos Drummond de Andrade to the Amazon poet.
