Classes begin on August 7.
The Maués City Hall, through the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism, will offer free guitar classes for children and youth in the Art and Culture Complex Fábrica de Ideias. In total, there will be three classes, with 20 students each, distributed in three schedules twice a week.
Registration is open until August 3rd. Children, young people, and adults from 8 years old and up are eligible to enroll. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 10:30am, from 3pm to 4:30pm, and from 7pm to 8:30pm. The daytime hours are for children and young people up to 18 years old, and the evening hours are for adults 18 years old and up.
"Students will start with basic guitar lessons, like getting to know the instrument, learning how to clean and care for it. Then posture, how to play and use it, and then they will learn musical notes and advanced techniques," says the secretary of culture and tourism, Ellen Mendonça.
Enrollment
The registrations will take place in the Courses Room at Fábrica de Ideias, located at Rua Boa Vista, s/n, in the Ramalho Júnior district. Minors must go there accompanied by a parent or guardian with ID or birth certificate, proof of residence, and proof of enrollment, to certify that they are regularly enrolled in school. Adults may present only their ID and proof of residence.
