The dancers Beatriz Larrat, 26, and Manuela Vieira, 25, will make a special presentation this Wednesday (24), from 18h, in aerobics and rhythm class of Ponta Negra's Free Zonewest zone. This year, the project Faixa Liberada, held by the Manaus City Hall, completed 10 years.
To liven up the program this Wednesday at Ponta Negra, Beatriz and Manuela will make a special presentation together with the dance teacher of the Free Strip. Both are from the state of Amazonas and are part of the program Domingão do Faustão, like the Famous People Show, held from April to July this year.
"The Ponta Negra's Faixa Liberada is already a Manaus' heritage. It is one of our consolidated projects, we gather more than 5 thousand people per edition. It is already part of the daily life of the people from Amazonas, who wait every Wednesday and Sunday to participate in the program. We always try to do something different within the programming and so we are doing with the participation of these two dancers in the Free Lane on Wednesday", said the secretary of the Municipal Secretariat for Youth, Sports and leisure (Semjel), João Carlos.
Advertising executive and administrator, Beatriz Larrat is also a professional dancer with 19 years of experience. With mastery over classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, she stated that dance can be more than a hobby.
"Both Manuela and I, two from Manaus, showed that dance can be more than a hobby and can become something professional. She also highlighted about the fever of the moment, which are zumba and fitdance. "It is incredible that the Manaus City Hall offers in a safe and free space this kind of initiative that promotes health and sports through dance", she said.
Manuela Vieira is a journalist and frequent user of the Ponta Negra's Free Zone. She tells how the idea of participating in the project came up. "This Wednesday's action was an initiative of mine and Beatriz to ask for Semjel's support, to help spread our culture and our customs. Dance is a therapy. I am already a regular at the Free Lane, my son loves going there and I love running there. I always take my family there on Wednesdays or Sundays," she said.
The Free Lane is held on Wednesdays, from 5pm to 10pm, and on Sundays, from 6am to noon.
