Less than a week before the beginning of the 52nd Folkloric Festival of Parintinsin the Amazonas, which will be held from Friday (30) to Sunday (2), public safety agencies of the state announced a joint plan of enhanced operations for the event.
The actions begin on Monday (26), with the participation of about 700 people, between servers, civil and military police and firefighters. Strategic points will be monitored by Integrated Command and Control Centers (CICC) installed in Manaus and Tupinambarana island. where drones (small unmanned aerial vehicles) will be used. The festival will take place at the Amazonino Mendes Cultural and Sports Center.
"In Parintins, we will set up a system identical to the one that is operating in Manaus, in the Bumbódromo, with 14 cameras that will be positioned in places of interest in Parintins. All of this will be operating together with the Amazonas state center. From the images that will be transmitted by drones, we will also see any point with transmission of images in real time ", said the executive secretary of the Amazonas Secretary of Public Safety, Dan Câmara.
For the event, 52 soldiers from the Amazon Civil Police will be available, but actions to combat crimes in the city have already begun.
"We have been working since the beginning of May with a special survey on drugs, homicides, other crimes and specific operations. That is why we are doing a slow work of investigation and intelligence, so that Parintins is not a refuge point for bad individuals," said delegate Mariolino Brito, from the Department of Interior Policing. .
The focus of the work of the Fire Department will be on prevention. There will also be inspections in the corrals of the Caprichoso and Garantido bulls. There will be 115 men working in the city and 26 support vehicles.
"We will work inside the event and in the external part, helping the municipality. We will also be on the waterfront with our aquatic rescue personnel, with divers on duty. We will be working on prevention and firefighting, and also in the rescues inside and outside the festival ", said the commanding general of the corporation, Fernando Pires Junior.
The Military Police force in Parintins will be 500 people. Colonel Franclides Ribeiro, commander of the integrated operation, said that from this Monday will be made the Operation Meeting of the Waters, which includes the supervision of vessels from the Port of Manaus. The military will also do a special action on Thursday (29), in the Visitors Festival, which should bring together about 20 thousand people, and during the three-day event.
"We will emphasize policing on foot, the proximity, good neighborhood, which works well in contact with tourists. This week we finished the training of the military, especially in human relations, in the interaction with the population and the tourist ", highlighted.
The Parintins 2017 operation will run until July 3, day of the counting of the winner of the folkloric festival. The expectation of the security agencies is that the city will receive 100 thousand visitors during the event.
