At the event there will be a competition for the best kites, in the categories: largest kite, smallest kite and the prettiest.
Big, small, simple and other well ornamented kites will beautify the sky of Manaus this weekend, Dec 9th and 10th 1st Kites Festival at Olympic Village Kartodromein the West Zone. A socio-cultural project that has the support of Manaus Prefecture, through the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult).
The festival starts this Saturday, 9/12, from 8am with free admission. The purpose of the event is to create a chain of solidarity, so the project will also be receiving a kilo of non-perishable food, to be destined to needy families. As part of the program, the donors will receive a ticket to participate in a raffle with more than 100 gifts.
During the event there will be a competition for the best kites, in the categories: largest kite, smallest kite, and prettiest kite. The awards will be trophies for the winners of each category. The entries will be made on Saturday and the placements on Sunday.
The organizer of the event, Celso Gomes, says that the festival is a way to help the youth of Alvorada. "Working with young people brings me enormous satisfaction, even more so when I help transform their lifestyle. We residents around the avenue of samba want to show the beauty of our creativity floating in the sky of our city," he said.
Still within the program, on Saturday, the MC "Vitão" will open the music shows, at 16h. Then there will be the band 'Forró Bombado from 7 pm to 9 pm. On Sunday, the 'MC Vitão' back on stage at 16h, to close the party. The event also has the support of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM) and the State Secretariat for Youth and Leisure (Sejel).
