Parallel to the Parintins Folkloric Festival, Embratur representative meets with Amazonastur and presents opportunities for segmented promotion of the Institute.
The promotion and support for the commercialization of Brazilian destinations in the international market, based on segmented promotion strategies, can significantly increase the number of visitors to the country. The statement is from Humberto Pires, a technician from the General Coordination of Tourism Segments of the Institute. He participated in a technical visit and accompanied famtour e press trip held in the state of Amazonas, last weekend, from June 29th to July 1st, when the 53rd Parintins Folkloric Festival.
Operators and journalists from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, among others present at the action, visited tourist attractions in the capital, Manaus, and in the city of Parintins (AM). They also got to know and watched the spectacle of the Parintins Folkloric Festival, a cultural manifestation that tells the stories of the oxen Caprichoso e Garantido. Last year alone, the celebration, which takes place outdoors in the Amazon Forest, more precisely in the Bumbódromo, injected R$ 50 million into the local economy and generated at least five thousand direct and indirect jobs in the city. According to the operators, who are also responsible for the international receptivity, there is a demand from foreigners for Brazilian cultural manifestations, as well as for the diversification of destinations.
The representative of Embratur met with the Amazonastur team - State Company of Tourism of Amazonas, which has the purpose of promoting the tourist activity of the state and projecting even more the region as a tourist destination in Brazil and abroad. Humberto Pires presented the segmented promotion work of the Institute, focusing on Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism, a structuring axis of the Amazonas State tourist offer, and because this is one of the segments that most attracts foreign tourists to the country.
"Besides attending the Festival, tourists take the opportunity to visit other attractions in the city, such as the corrals of the bulls Caprichoso and Garantido, the Amazon River, tricycle ride through the city, Bumbódromo among others, being the festival an option for the seasonal flow of international leisure in Brazil, informed the representative of Embratur".
From typical bird watching in the region to lodging in jungle hotels, the state received in 2017 almost 34,000 foreign tourists, counted here exclusively those who entered Brazil through the state, according to the most recent data from the Ministry of Tourism.
