The weekend will have several cultural events and the closure of the program "Christmas Present

In addition to the Christmas program, the weekend will feature several theater and dance performances, recital, concert, and the traditional Book and Comic Book Exchange Fair

This weekend, the closing of the program will take place "Christmas Presentwhich has been moving the Largo de São Sebastião and its surroundings since December 7 with various attractions. From Friday through Sunday, the public can enjoy dozens of activities, including concerts, cantatas, film screenings, visits to Santa's House, and the show "The Magic Box of Christmas". All with free access.

Besides the Christmas programming, the weekend in the spaces managed by the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy will also have several theater and dance performances, recitals, concerts and the traditional Book and Comic Book Exchange Fair. Check out the options and enjoy.

Friday (12/20)

5pm - At Largo de São Sebastião and surroundings, the special Christmas program continues with many attractions: Christmas Fair, with handicraft and gastronomy items, and ludic activities with Tapa Productions (José Clemente Street); visit to Santa's House, presentation of the Popsicle Clown and movie session (House of Arts); performances by the Chamber Choir, the Madrigal Vitória, the musical "Filho de Deus e Menino Meu", and a show by Afonso Rodrigues (Lira stage). The activities go on until 8:30pm and are free of charge.

6 PM - At Installation Theater (rua Frei José dos Inocentes, s/nº, Centro), the show "Joias de Tchaikovsky", presents cuts of the ballets "Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Nutcracker", by composer Piatr Ilitch Tchaikovsky, with some adaptations by Cia. de Dança Encontro das Águas. Free entrance and free classification.

7pm - At Gebes Medeiros Theater (avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, 937, Centro - Antigo Ideal Clube), will be presented "Pra não mago", monologue starring the character Joana, a lonely woman in a room, reliving memories. Joana manages to be universal like all women when she tells about the risks, her conflicts with the imposed conditions and, above all, her stunning transformations. Free access. Not recommended for children under 12.

20h - At the Amazonas Theater (Av. Eduardo Ribeiro, 659, Centro), there will be a presentation of the show "A Caixa Mágica de Natal", which makes a playful journey through the Christmas universe by telling the story of a child who, after losing his mother, no longer believes in Christmas. But everything changes when the child, at the request of his grandmother, opens a trunk of memories, reads a letter left by his mother and, in a flash of magic, plunges into the magical world of Christmas, alongside an elf. "A Caixa Mágica do Natal" features the Amazonas Filarmônica, Orquestra Experimental da Amazonas Filarmônica, Coral do Amazonas, Corpo de Dança do Amazonas, Balé Experimental do Corpo de Dança do Amazonas, Balé Folclórico do Amazonas, and Coral Infantil do Liceu Claudio Santoro. The musical direction is by maestro Marcelo de Jesus. Free entrance and free rating.

Saturday (12/21)

9am - The Public Library of Amazonas (rua Barroso, 57, Centro) will open with the "Saturday in the Library", a program that happens one Saturday a month, with a Bibliotour, consultation to the literature and comic book collections, and screening of short animated children's films. Until 12 noon, with free admission and free rating.

4 PM - Also at the Public Library, the book "Devaneio: amores vividos, histórias inventadas", by Amazon journalist Rebeca Beatriz, will be launched. During the event there will be a chat with the author who will explain the book's creation process. Free access.

4pm - At the same time, in the hall of Teatro Amazonas, the Vocal Group of the Artistic Bodies will hold a Christmas soirée. In the repertoire songs like "Seguindo uma estrela", "Não posso crer", "Ave Maria", "Vinde adoremos", "Uirapuru" and "Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle". Free admission.

5 PM and 8 PM - Also at Teatro Amazonas, there will be two more sessions of the show "The Magic Box of Christmas", which makes a playful journey through the Christmas universe. Free admission.

5 PM - At Senator Jefferson Péres Park (Av. Lourenço da Silva Braga, 1507, Centro), the Troupe Bacia Agrupação Experimental - which mixes the art of clowning with different circus techniques - will present "Bacia Cabaret", with classic circus scenes and physical scenes created during experimental rehearsals, bringing a mix of juggling, acrobatics and clowning. Free access.

5 PM - At Largo de São Sebastião and surroundings, within the special Christmas programming, there will be a presentation of the Coral da PIB, Roda na Praça project, and a show by Cinara Nery (Lira stage); a visit to Santa Claus' House, a presentation by Quiabo the Clown and a movie session (Casa das Artes); Christmas Fair and recreational activities with Criatê Arte e Produção (José Clemente street). Free access.

Sunday (12/22)

8am - The activities start early at the Amazon Public Library with the Book and Comic Book Exchange Fair. The 38th edition of the event will have, besides the exchange of books and comic books, the "Bibliotour", a guided tour that tells the history of the space; the staged story "Juca and the Serpent of the River", which will be mediated by the Reading Mania Program team; and the "Bibliocine", with the screening of animated short films aimed at children. To participate in the book exchange, visitors must bring books and comic books that will be exchanged for coupons. Each coupon will entitle the visitor to exchange the book for another book, and the comic book for another comic book. The comic book coupons also entitle the visitor to exchange children's literature books. Books of general literature, Brazilian literature, Amazon literature, children's literature, comic books, books related to the Amazon, biographies and arts are accepted. Didactic, technical, and school books, or in poor conservation conditions, are not accepted. All programming is free of charge and goes until 12pm.

8:40am - At Metropolitan Cathedral of Manaus - Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Mother Church), the Vocal Group of the Artistic Bodies will make a special presentation with Christmas repertoire. Free access. The Church is located at Praça Osvaldo Cruz, s/nº, in the Center.

11am - At Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center (Sete de Setembro Avenue, 1546, Center), there will be a Chamber Music Recital, with Irina Glibka, member of the Amazonas Philharmonic. Free admission.

11am and 7pm - The last two sessions of the musical "The Magic Box of Christmas" take place Sunday at Teatro Amazonas. The show starring the State Artistic Corps, the Children's Choir from Liceu Claudio Santoro, and a large cast, takes a playful trip through the Christmas universe. Free admission.

5 PM - The closing of the "Presente de Natal" program, which has been taking place since December 7th at Largo de São Sebastião and its surroundings, will feature a performance by the Coral Dr. Euler Ribeiro and a show by Banda Carrapicho (Lira stage); a visit to Santa Claus' house, a presentation by Puxa Puxa clown and a movie session (Casa das Artes); and a Christmas fair and recreational activities with the Alecrim Nativo group (José Clemente street). Free admission.

7 PM - This week's Authoral Sunday will have a double dose. In the first session, Márcia Siqueira will perform a special concert with Letícia Siqueira. Next, starting at 8pm, it will be Cileno's turn to present his successes. The singer will welcome Oscar Filho on stage. The "Domingo Autoral" takes place at the Gebes Medeiros Theater, with free admission and free rating.
