Shows that will have pop and philosophical themes, continue at the space until July 30, with free admission.
O Galeria do Largo Visual Arts Center will host two new exhibitions starting this Saturday (May 19). "Silence" e "Filha de Maria" (Mary's Daughter)which will have a pop and philosophical theme, will be on view until July 30, with free admission.
Signed by the artist Manausmacaco and Vanderlan Mota, the exhibition "Silence" is divided into two complementary parts: "Silence" and "Real Men", with 150 works (one hundred of them unpublished) that make reflections on social behavior, lifestyle, art, and design. More than this, the work is a representation of the legacy of his grandfather, Mestre Venícius. According to the artist, the work is based on audiovisual productions made by him, DJ FabianoPAX and his wife Tatiana Sobreira.

"In the exhibition we will have a space with reflections regarding the behavior that society is taking. We have phrases from various authors such as John Cage, Marcel Duchamp, and Martin Luther King when he says 'In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. My uncle, Vanderlan Mota, is also participating in this composition as an artist, exposing the relationship between object-furniture and the questioning of what is or is not art. I see this as a work that has been developed in generations of my family", comments Manausmacaco.
The director of the Galeria do Largo and curator of the exhibitions, Turenko Beça, says that the organization of the works makes the difference in the space's scenery. "Manausmacaco's exhibition gathers several works as if it were an academic salon of fine arts. The works, on purpose, are very close to each other. The theme of this exhibition is pop, politics, he is a guy who studied arts and philosophy and is very well prepared to talk about it.
The second exhibition is "Filha de Maria", by Tatiana Sobreira. The artist's work shows practically abstract art with diverse themes and experimentation. She makes reference to the feminine universe through the use of colors. In her first exhibition, the artist says that the works are a tribute to her mother, who passed away recently, and also represent the many facets of the female archetype.
"I confess that I am feeling full with this exhibition. It is important to emphasize that I work with shapes and colors, not drawings. It is a real tribute to my mother, a very special person, and in a way, to the female figure and its forms.
For each candle, a request
The space is also hosting the exhibition "For each candle, a request", Kerolayne Kemllin's debut at the Galeria do Largo, which opened on April 30th. With several religious symbols, the exhibition talks about religious freedom, besides approaching themes such as tolerance and respect.
