The visiting season for the show will be two months.
With about 100 works of characters from animations, movies and series made with paper, the free exhibition "In Strange Lands will be open to public visitation from 1 pm this Monday, 23/7. The arts of papercraft will be on display at Moacir Andrade Galleryat 427 Henrique Martins Street, in the Center. The visiting season will be two months.
The exhibition will feature themed scenarios and characters that have marked an entire generation, with highlights such as 'The Knights of the Zodiac', 'Dragon Ball Z', 'Star Wars', among other life-size sculptures. The public will also be able to share space with villains and superheroes, such as 'Spider-Man'.
The event is held by Sesc Amazonas and will feature the Paper Chaar group, represented by paper art experts Almeida Chaar (designer), Keysa Menezes and Wendel Gustavo. According to Wendel, the papercraft is built with several pieces of paper, cut and fixed with glue. From this process replicas of characters from games, movies, motorcycles, cars and other things are built. He points out that the construction time of the sculpture varies according to the size and skill of the artist.
"The size of papercraft varies between 20 cm and two meters, as well as the construction period of the sculpture. For example, a 30 cm piece can take an average of five hours to be finished, depending on the details; others, of 60 cm or larger, can take three to four days to be finished, or even weeks", she says.
According to Sesc's Visual Arts producer, Denise Vicentim, the exhibition will take the visitor on a journey through time. "The exhibition exalts the possibility of entering other worlds, remembering your childhood with characters that made the joy and fantasies of many grownups around", she said.
The public can check the exhibition at Galeria Moacir Andrade, from 1pm to 5pm, from Monday to Friday. Some pieces of the exhibition "In Strange Lands" will also be on display in the hall of the Sesc Centro, during business hours.
