The band Gramophone, three years on the road, launches its first album this Saturday (24), from 7 pm, during a show at Les Artistes Café Teatro (Sete de Setembro Avenue, 377, Center). The project has free access and age rating of 18 years.
"Gramophone in Studio" is a project approved by the Cultural Connections 2017 of Manauscult and, besides the first album, also includes the audiovisual record of a live session, recorded in studio with an audience of family, friends and supporters. The audiovisual product also follows the recommendations to encourage accessibility including audiodescription and translation into pounds. In addition, one of the strengths of the project will be the counterpart directed to a community school.
Marielle, Self-Care and Formation
The ten songs on the album show the sonic maturity translated into songs about love, but also about current and necessary themes such as justice for Marielle and everything she represents. The album also addresses the need for self-care as "Keep your distance", hope and equality in "Doce Vida", a song given as a gift by the artist Milton Cunha, from the band Cabocriolo.
"It's a record of how we were emotionally, going through this process of working integrally with music and dealing with the expectations of people close and intimate" says Vivian Gramophone, lead singer of the band.
What started as a quartet, still in 2016, during the cultural fervor that was Ocupa MinC in Manaus, has become one of the most celebrated bands in the alternative Amazonas music scene.
"Singing, bringing reflection, awareness and good thoughts through music, is a mission for me. It helps me to think, through art, of ways to contribute to society because there are people dying, people killing themselves. And we want to take a message of overcoming and of alert", says Vivian.
With repertoires that include samba, rock, forró, jazz, carimbó, and MPB, Gramophone stands out both for its interpretations of songs and for its own compositions.

The counterpart of the band will be in the form of a children's musical activity aimed at children from the Maria das Graças Municipal School, in the Alvorada neighborhood, west-central zone of Manaus. "The activity will take place in the format of a didactic concert, under the coordination of Robson Andrei, who is also a music teacher for children. In the activity, each member will present his instrument, inviting students to interact in practice," he explains.
The launch event will feature an opening concert by the band Os Tucumanus, which represents a great reference in the work of the Gramophone members themselves.
