Clássicos Amazônicos' group performs at the Teatro da Instalação

In the repertoire of the group formed by students from the Amazonas State University (UEA) are regional songs with an erudite touch.

On Thursday (21), the group Amazonian Classics will make a special show featuring well-known songs from the regional scene, at the Installation Theater (Rua Frei José dos Inocentes, Centro). The event, which is supported by the State Secretary of Culture (SEC), through the Open Space ProgramProgram, is free and starts at 7 pm.

According to the artistic director of the group, Heron Santos, the objective of the presentation is to exalt well-known Amazonian songs.

"Our group decided to strive to value popular Amazonian music, playing works by composers from here, giving them an erudite touch," he says.

In the repertoire are songs like "Amazonas Moreno", by the group Raízes Caboclas; "Amazonas meu amor" and "O amor está no ar", by Chico da Silva; and "Lusis", by singer Cileno.

Clássicos Amazônicos is formed by Luziene Menezes (soprano), Heron Santos (keyboardist), Samuel Pinheiro (bassist), Jânio Girão (drummer), and Cleomir Leda (flutist), all students from the Amazonas State University (UEA). This performance, besides the five members, will also feature the cellist Griblas Lisama and singer Yago Nascimento.
