A selection of music from the times of Colonial Brazil, with a touch of modernity. This is how the show "Modinhas Brasileiras" showthat the Ostinatos Group presentingá on January 27, at the Center for Visual Arts - Largo Gallery. The event, which is supported by the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC), will start at 18h and will have free admission.
According to guitarist Ailton de Freitas, "Modinhas Brasileiras" will be a didactic concert. "We will present music from the Brazilian colonial period, with modinhas and lundus, so we will do a didactic concert, with an introduction about the style and the songs chosen," he says.
Ailton says that the idea of the group is to rescue the musical style.
"These songs are popular. People have heard many of these songs, but they are rarely played nowadays. The idea of our presentation is to rescue an intangible asset that is part of the history of Brazilian music," he says.
Lasting an hour, the presentation will bring together songs such as "Acaso Sõo Estes," "Pelo Amor de Deus," "Moda Carioca," "Se Essa Rua Fosse Minha," "Malandrinha," "Mulata," "Isto é Bom," "Xula Carioca," "Graças aos Céus de Vadios," "Quem Sabe? ", "Lá no Largo da Serra" and "Terezinha de Jesus".
The Grupo Ostinatos is made up of singers from the Grupo Vocal do Coral do Amazonas (GVCA) and instrumentalists with a background in popular and classical music. In the show "Modinhas Brasileiras", the vocal part will be composed by Izabel Barros (soprano, first voice and counter-voice), Lourenzo Senna (male vocal, tenor), Lia Pimentel (soprano, first voice) and Jessyca Paiva (soprano); The instrumental group will be formed by Ailton de Freitas (guitar), Ruben Levi (guitar), Márcio Costa (cavaquinho), Eliberto Barroncas (pandeiro), and Adalberto Holanda (violin).
