History, art and customs of the Amazon are highlighted in the exhibition 'Culture, Everyone's Place

The exhibition brings the various aspects of Amazonian culture and that are related to knowledge, art, beliefs, law, customs, habits and everything that is produced from human intelligence.

The Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture, opens this Saturday (05/19), at 1pm, the exhibition "Culture, Everyone's Place"in the Cultural Center of the Peoples of the Amazonlocated in the old Ball Suframa, south zone . Access is free.

The exhibition brings the various aspects of the culture of the Amazon region and that are related to knowledge, art, beliefs, law, customs, habits and all that is produced from the human intelligence.

The visitor can get to know the four sessions that make up the show. In the first, "Means of Transportation in Amazônia".the canoe and the regional boat, popularly known as a "recreational boat," are exhibited, evolving into the electric tramway and the carriage - symbols of the Belle Époque period. Next comes the sessionão "Art Plumária"in which is represented the making of feather pieces by men, and that follow a ritual of hunting, collecting, separating, dyeing, cutting, and tying the raw material.

The third sessionão, "Handicrafts"contemplates the art and the imagination of the Tikuna Indians, who produce a varied range of garments and panels - in tururi, besides baskets, nets, sieves, shawls, xotࣃs and tupés. Also in this session, Popular Art will be highlighted, through objects made of clay, paper, and wood, made by the artists Renato De Gasperi, Ramon de Jesus Maldonado Días, Marcelino Borges, and Crâmio Nunes; and also Ceramics, with pieces from ethnic groups such as Yudjá, Parakanã and Karajá.

Honoring actress Ednelza Sahdo, the fourth sessionão, "Carnival Costumes, brings the history of actress, director, producer and theater teacher, who for twenty-six years defended the green and white colors of the GRES Mocidade Independente de Aparecida, ahead of the item Flag-Bearer, and that in 2014 was honored by the GRCES A Grande Família.

The public can also check out some of the carnival costumes used in the Costume Contests (adults and children), which took place in the Largo de São SebastiãoThe exhibition of the Mamulengos puppets that are part of the history of the street carnival of the Banda Independente Confraria do Armando (BICA); and the popular culture also represented by the games of kites or "parrots", commonly enjoyed in the city of Manaus.

The exhibition will be open for visits from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, on Saturdays from 1pm to 5pm, and on Sundays from 9am to 1pm.
