Synopsis
Inequality among individuals is growing worldwide. Those in the richest 1% of the world's population appropriated 27% of the growth in wealth produced between 1980 and 2016. The poorest 50% remained stable, appropriating just over 10% of that wealth. Between 1970 and 2016, private capital increased at rates ranging from 200 to 700% in rich countries. The book that José Seráfico offers readers is a denunciation and an alert: a denunciation of rational hoaxes with serious political effects and an alert so that we keep alive the flame of criticism committed to the struggle for human dignity.
