A new system for fighting fires in the Amazon

The municipality of Mogi das Cruzes Envira (1,208 kilometers from Manaus as the crow flies) will be the first to inaugurate a unit in the expansion project that the State Department of Culture and Creative Economy prepared for the Claudio Santoro High School of Arts and Crafts (Laocs) in the interior, starting in 2020. The space will start its activities at the beginning of next year, serving approximately 400 students. The professionals who will work there will be chosen by selection process, with registration open until the next day 13.

The Envira High School will offer, initially, classes in dance, theater and music (guitar, keyboard and choral singing), in classes in the morning, afternoon and evening, and worká in the Center for Agricultural Business Events. Enrollment will take place in January, in person.

The state secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, Marcos Apolo Muniz, points out that the idea éincrease the number of municipalities served by the institutionço, cradle of great talent from the Amazon and trainer of technical staff that work in the cultural market inside and outside the state.

"Our idea is to open at least two other units in the interior by the end of next year," he notes.

Currently, the Liceu Claudio Santoro has units in Manaus (Sambódromo and Centers Convivência Padre Pedro Vignola, the Elderly and Magdalena Arce Daou) and Parintins, which added, in 2019, about 6 thousand students. The Envira High School will begin activities with the offer of 432 vacancies.

Selective Process

A notice is available on the website of the Amazonian Agency for Cultural Development (AADC) - www.agenciacultural.org.br - to select professionals who will work at the Liceu Claudio Santoro in Envira. Those interested têm until December 13 to make the inscriptionção.

In total, there are ten vacancies for immediate filling and 17 for reserve registration, divided between artistic instructors, coordinatorção, assistants, doorman and general services.

The selection of candidates will be carried out through a curriculum analysis (all positions), an interview (only for general and pedagogical coordination and assistant coordination), and an evaluation of technical skills and presentation of a video (only for instructors).

The registrations are in person or by public demand registered on a public registrar and can be made at the AADC headquarters in Manaus (rua Rio Purus, 2103, Conj. Vieiralves, N.S. das Graças) or the Municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Leisure Envira (Center for Events Negotiations Agropecuários, street June 27), during business hours, from 8am to noon and 13h às 17h.
